The best way to learn Asana is to jump in and start using it!
It’s widely known as one of the most intuitive and user-friendly project management systems out there. And it’s easy to get started.
Here are some tips to get started quickly:
Project Boards
Boards in Asana are a great way to visualize projects at different stages. Like post-its on a whiteboard, each project card represents a piece of work that can be tracked as it moves through the process.
Here's a super simple one:

You can name each column in a way that makes sense for you:

It's easy for agile too:

Once the columns are set, add the work you want to track in Asana. Eventually you can setup additional boards for different workflows or teams. Start with 1 and expand as you go.
Custom Fields
Then, spruce up your Board with Custom Fields. These colorful dropdowns help you see key project info at-a-glance.

Track literally anything you need to. Just this one key feature can instantly up-level your setup. It’s a great way to organize and prioritize work, making Asana instantly more valuable.
It’s quick, easy (and even fun!) to setup. You can use Asana’s pre-loaded fields. But I like customizing them with my own colors and options.

Project Lists
Next, setup a List project.
You’ll want to get in the habit of tracking everything in Asana. So start documenting your To Do list in Asana.
Categorize the sections how it makes sense for you.

Create new List projects as you need them, to keep track of different workstreams, new initiatives, or one-time projects.

Add custom fields to track and organize work. Now you have a supercharged setup ready to manage your projects with ease.

Home Page
Lastly, make it yours. Take a moment to customize your Home page.
Add some widgets. Pick a background color. Make it useful and have fun.
Best Practices
There. Now you’re ready to get going in Asana!
This would take less than 1 hour.
You can evolve the system as you go.
Coaching Services
If you need some extra help, a coach can help you get setup for success.
